Atop a snow covered hill a group of six figures hold colorful ribbons dancing about a May pole with train tracks in the distance. In Andrew Wyeth’s culminating masterwork they dance in anticipation of his impending death for the hell he put them through. Notice there are seven ribbons however.

Kevin, if you love this painting you may love the work of one of Wyeth’s students, Bo Bartlett. He is one of my favorite painters working currently. I had never seen this Wyeth, it’s much more interesting. Also, if you go to Maine, visit the Farnsworth, their collection is founded on the Wyeth’s work. Thanks for sharing this one!
