My life was saved by a pocket notebook, and you can use one to overcome "procrastination."

When I claimed to have spent more than 11 hours a day on my phone, no one took me seriously. I spent the entire day on it, texting, watching YouTube videos, and scrolling. I was so addicted that, like a zombie with no consciousness, I took my phone, opened YouTube, and began watching shorts. This was causing harm to every part of my life, so I decided to take action.

Nothing has worked out for me in my attempts to overcome my addiction, despite trying numerous approaches including dopamine cleanse, app blockers, and productivity applications. I attempted to hide my phone and use a "dumb phone," but I discovered that I had to keep looking for new ways to watch YouTube videos. All of the internet gurus' productivity videos filled my YouTube stream because I was so desperate to find a way to kick my addiction.

"I was viewing productivity videos while putting off work.”

I once came upon a video called,

"I switched out my phone for a notepad."

I clicked on the video right away and watched it through to the very finish. The maker of that video demonstrated how to use a notebook in place of a phone. I acquired a little pocket notebook that fits a pen since I wanted to test this method as well.

Essentially, you will always have that notebook with you, and you will take it out whenever you want to take out your phone.

In essence, you will carry that notebook around with you at all times, and you will take it out whenever you feel like taking out your phone. after then you can write and draw anything you want.

I started by jotting down my current feelings.

I began keeping a to-do list on it after learning about journaling. In addition, I started jotting down thoughts as they came to me so I could refer to them later.

My addiction took some time to get well, but The Notebook was the answer. Every time I touched or saw the little notebook in my pocket, it would serve as a constant reminder of my addiction.

That, I believe, was the key factor in its success. It was both the problem's cause and its remedy at the same time.

My screen time decreased gradually over time to about two to three hours. Instead of viewing videos on YouTube, I was making sketches in my notebook.

I started reading more books like "Deep work" and "Atomic habits" because I became more interested in reading in general, and that was really helpful.

From then on, my life took off, and it all began with a little notebook.
