Outkast (Big Boi & Andre3000)
They were high school best friends from Atlanta, Georgia. André Lauren Benjamin (Andre3000) and Antwan Andre Patton (BigBoi) both formed a hip-hop duo called "OutKast". The duo was signed with Arista Records and Laface Records making six albums and winning Grammys and huge music accolades until they went off their separate ways working on other projects.

Rap isThe New Rock and Roll ? Kanye Believe It?
Introduction This post from Seven Days In on the Glastonbury Festival of 2015 has been getting a lot of traction so I thought I would share it on Vocal. It has my thoughts on Rap, Rock, and Kanye West. It was written in 2015 so some bits may be out of date, but you may still find it interesting.

Women of Sound
I have tried to keep up with what is on the charts, but I am not as devoted to the top-forty hits as I once was. As much as I like the noises of Billie, Dua, Taylor and Queen Bee, I still find myself going back to the other side of the equation, meaning the ones who should be bigger. You like Beyonce? I go for Janelle Monae. Taylor Swift? Give me St. Vincent. And Billie Eilish may be hard to categorize, but Bjork got there first. So, pop music will go on, but I want a little bit more.

The night I met my friend Willy Chirino
I had the honor of finally meeting my friend Willy Chirino on December 16, 2022. My cousin bought me a front row ticket for his concert at NJPAC performing arts center in Newark, New Jersey. That night Willy was performing with another popular singer Leoni Torres. Willy and Leoni did a duet remake of Willy’s song “pa’mi Viejo”. I never heard Leoni Torres songs before and I was treated to his music which was really good. Leoni is a talented singer and performer. He opened for Willy.

Favorite Live albums part 2:Boy George and Culture Club
In 1997,Boy George and Culture Club partnered with music television network VH1 to do a reunion tour which was a smashing success all around. At the time VH1 had a concert series called “Storytellers” where bands would perform in an intimate setting for a small group of fans and do what else tell the stories of their careers, how certain songs had come to be, and naturally sing the songs as well. Culture Club did a “Storytellers” and it was great and out of that special came what would be their first live album to my knowledge. I got recorded on a video tape and watched it over and over and over again.

My favorite albums part one: Selena’s live albums
Selena won her Grammy in 1994 for this wonderful live album that she and her band released and recorded in 1993 appropriately titled “Live”. It’s an album that is chocked full of Selena’s hit at the time that have become classics with time. The album takes the best from every album that the band had recorded from when they signed with EMI Latin at the time to 1993 when the album was recorded. Recording the album where they recorded it was a homecoming because it was Selena y Los Dinos hometown heroes in Corpus Christi Texas at the famous collesium of the city.

Boy George and culture club, as great and fabulous as they ever ever wore, and ever are, and ever will be forever and ever always!
I saw a Boy George and culture club in 2022, my awesome cousin took me to see them at some hotel resort in Pennsylvania somewhere. Boy, George and culture club did not disappoint at all, they did their hits a lot of them and also because there’s artists in the music industry they also treated us their fans to some new stuff too, which is always enjoyable and exciting at the same time. Unfortunately, on this gig, while this show rather original drummer John Moss was not there now he is not out of the group bios any stretch of the imagination no it is there was a substitute for him at that night. He still a member of culture club.
