5 Songs You Need On Your Halloween Party Playlist!
Did someone say party?
Hello, Spooky friends!
It's that time of the year, and I hope you all have your costumes planned out. Someone in your circle is bound to host a Halloween party. I would take this time to brush up on some dance moves because there are many great Halloween songs that you can get down to. If you have a Halloween party coming up, or you want to show off some playlist skills, here are a few songs that get the party going!
5. Ray Parker Jr. - Ghostbusters
"Ghostbusters" has blessed us with pop culture, great IP, and this catchy song that sometimes the radio will play, but only during Halloween.
Imagine people are arriving, and this bop is playing in the background. It sets the Halloween mood. The nostalgia of this song is inviting and allows your guests to warm up for the night. People are talking, and noticing eachother's costumes. One of your roomates co-workers worked really hard on their Britney Spears Slave 4 You costume, they had to be talked out of bringing an actual live snake. The party has only begun and everyone is having fun.
4. Nelly Furtado - Maneater
Okay! Now we need some people dancing. If there's no one on the dance floor, play this Nelly Furtado banger! People will start to trickle because you can't help but move your body to this SEXY song! I play it all the time in my car, and I'm just WAITING for the opportunity to hear it at a party.
It's giving, Vampire Rave.
"Maneater" reminds me of the opening scene in "Blade" (1998). You know the one where a human thought they were at a regular rave, but didn't realize he was the snack. What a scene!
3. The Living Tombstone- Spooky Scary Skeletons (Remix)
Turn the lights off. Bring out a few glow sticks. I hope you prepared some jello shots. It's time to get down to Halloween Business when this song plays.
This song was birthed nine years ago, and lives rent free in my mind. It also has 99 Million views on YouTube. I know there's a good chunck of us that are listening to this song even when it's not Halloween. Legend has it, when this song plays, everyone goes feral.
2. Rocky Horror Time Warp
Oh! You thought you were leaving the dance floor? The instructions are literally in this cult classic of a song. You have to stay and show them what you got. IT'S JUST A JUMP TO THE LEFT AND THEN A STEP TO THE RIGHT!
The opening instrumental moment of this song will turn heads. "Time Warp" is a welcoming song to those who are shy. but really want to let loose and dance. There's no correct way to Time Warp, in fact, the weirder the better!
Honestly, just have a Rocky Horror Themed Party! The music is already curated for you, and everyone can show up in glitter.
1. Michael Jackson - Thriller
Thriller is a masterpiece of a song that has to be played at every Halloween party. Save this one for the end of the night after people have had a few drinks and start feeling a little more comfortable around each other. We need to see who in this room knows the choreography. If it's you, congratulations, you're invited to all the Halloween parties!
