What Happened When I Went 60 Days Sober? — Pt.2 The Broken Heart
So if you haven’t caught up with part 1, then take a look. I was about to face the biggest difficulties in this challenge so far. It’s a lesson to learn, tomorrow is not given and life is unpredictable. It can either break you, or make you. It’s your choice.

What Happened When We Visited the Java Whiskers Cat Cafe and Book Club?
Imagine a café. Now imagine it’s full of adorable cats or kittens to play with. You’re feeding and snuggling with said cats. Now imagine there’s a bunch of likeminded individuals who are excited to discuss the book you’ve all just read over steaming beverages. I can’t think of a cosier image. Well, you don’t have to imagine it, it’s real! If I could narrow down all of life’s simplest pleasures to the two greatest, it would have to be cats and books. Nothing combines them better than the Java Whiskers Cat Café which also now hosts a book club monthly.

What Happened When I Went 60 Days Sober? - Pt. 1
I did It, I made it through the first 30 days, and they were certainly the most difficult in terms of breaking thought patterns. However, as I went into my next 30, I realised the truth, that 30 days would NOT have been enough. How many of us have done a dry January and then slipped straight back into an old habit or even overcompensated? Research shows that when forming a habit it actually takes (close your eyes and take a guess):

Review of Six The Musical . Top Story - October 2023.
If you’re looking for a different kind of West End experience, I would certainly recommend this one. I’d heard the songs floating around various trends on TikTok, even downloaded one or two due to empowering themes. I had no idea that in fact, they came from an interesting and unusual musical based around the stories of Henry VIII’s infamous 6 wives.

What was it like seeing Beyoncé live on her Renaissance Tour?
Yes, I was one of the lucky ones who managed to nab a ticket for the extravaganza that was Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour. More accurately I was one of the lucky ones with a best friend who entered the warzone of multiple sites and entry points to try to nab tickets as they went fast. Forever thankful. Not just that, but this was admittedly my first time ever attending a concert of this scale in my life. First time for everything right? And what a first time.

What I’ve Learned From Going 30 Days Sober
As you saw in my previous article, there is a multitude of reasons behind why so many of us are becoming sober curious. After a failed dry January, I decided to try again but really challenge myself this time. Like a mythical quest, I had heard of the hundred days sober challenge. A seemingly insurmountable beast that I’d not known anyone personally to have overcome. Well, I thought I couldn’t fast for 3 days and yet if you followed that challenge, I in fact could.
