The rustle of leaves and morning air greeted Dan while he slept in the tent. He had planned this for so many weeks. "I'm finally getting to enjoy some well deserved solitude" he thought to himself. The new insulated sleeping bag was cozy and he only wanted to continue feeling its warmth.

The traffic light turned green and the car accelerated quickly through the slick intersection. Today happened to be the 13th, but the day was shaping up nicely for them. It was one of the best Fridays Pierce could remember enjoying in quite some time.

His heart finally stopped racing but a headache was nagging him near his right temple. Ryan stopped sobbing as the paramedics quickly arrived to help him out of his mangled convertible. Even though the car had to be towed, he felt okay and declined a ride to an area hospital.

The deadline was looming and the cell phone displayed 2:00am. The final budget analysis had to be completed within the next six hours or additional project funding couldn't be extended until the following quarter. As the newly hired operations manager, Ryan needed to get this daunting task completed without flaws. Even the fourth cup of piping hot coffee wasn't doing enough for him.
