Writing Sucks
The writing process is exhausting. Do not get me wrong, I love to write, but many times I get the impression that I am not good enough. I have been told by friends and loved ones that I am a good writer, so why is that not enough? This is a question that I constantly find myself revisiting.

Dormant Desires
“I love everything you do for me, but I want you to get help.” These words were spoken to me by my best friend about five weeks before my life changed forever. I had known her since January 2016, but on March 6th, 2022, she decided that I needed some alone time to figure out who I was.

Relationships and Faith
Stories are the best way to understand someone else’s perspective. Storytelling allows for the discussion of difficult emotions and for the processing of life circumstances. The telling of stories also allows for the dissection of one’s current mood. To understand why one may be angry, sad, hurt, or running through an entire assortment of emotions. Stories can match any situation, and that is what makes them so effective.

What A Difference A Year Can Make
On March 6th, 2022, I have coffee and conversation with my best friend of 6 years at a local Starbucks. We were there from approximately 6:45 to 8:45 AM. We hugged each other and went our separate ways. Little did I know this would be the beginning of a nightmare. I went back to college about 1 ½ hours away, thinking everything was okay in our friendship. I was excited to return about five weeks later so that I could spend time with my best friend during Easter.

Felicity Jones
I saw my very first Felicity Jones movie in December 2016. I was with friends in New York City when we decided to watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story at a nearby Regal Entertainment Group theater. However, it would not be until nearly six to seven years later that I would get into her larger catalog of movies to see just how dynamic an actor she truly is.

Like Crazy
To my surprise, I only recently heard of Like Crazy, which originally came out in 2011. The well-established bond between Anna and Jacob immediately struck a chord in me. I absolutely loved the performances of Anton Yelchin, who played Jacob, and Felicity Jones, who played Anna. They made the characters come alive allowing their on-screen love to permeate naturally.

Love of Country
Nationalism in the United States began in the late 18th century, meaning it was likely sometime around the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, 1776. The thirteen colonies, that were a part of England when King George III reigned, were at war with England since 1775. With the promise of independence, Americans became proud of being American for the first time. They no longer identified as Marylanders, South Carolinians, New Englanders, or any of the other colonies. They were one, banded together for the struggle for religious freedom, not being taxed excessively, and being able to make life their own.

Five Reasons Why Emotional Pain Hurts
Emotional pain is any social situation that causes discomfort, uneasiness, or potential hazards resulting from relationships, friendships, or family situations. The emotional pain could be the result of a romantic breakup, the ending of a friendship, or severed family ties. All three of these situations have the ability to cause a great amount of pain and distress in one’s life. What makes it worse is how is one supposed to deal with this sudden pain? It is not easy and there is no easy road to move forward, but I believe the answers are ultimately in reflecting on the situation and taking the proper steps to move forward.
