The Recurrences
My dreams are always non-descript, and I know even at that deep level of the mind what they're for: to help me work out some kind of confusion or error or pattern. Being as dreams are, they combine funhouse mirror imagery with ultravivid reality, distortions or incongruent patterns/conversations/scenarios with supersaturated color vignettes. I very rarely remember them when I awaken. All I usually recall is that they make my head spin.

Electric Magic
I push the right buttons, follow the blink blink blink of the marker on the screen and words appear. Thoughts become synapses firing, become nerves moving muscles down my arms to my fingers, and the manifestation solidifies: letters to words to paragraphs, mirroring the thought. An electric manifestation. An electric magic.

Love Isn't Always What You Think It Is
When one hears the word 'love,' the mind usually automatically moves to romantic love, love born of desire, intimacy. I think of love for family, natural or chosen: my children, my sisters, my mother, dear friends. All of these variations of love are valid and true, yet for me and perhaps a lot of you, some are defined as much by their lack as they are by their presence. Our histories shape our perspectives and definitions of even this most basic of human needs, and as has been in my case, can cast love as a brittle, fragile possession.
