In my day-to-day life, I will express more gratitude to others by ____________. Rupi Kaur's Gratitude Writing Prompts

As often as possible, I will express more gratitude to others by remembering them when speaking publicly. I will let others know who has made a difference for me in my life.

This opportunity comes up for me with training counselors, and when I am asked to speak or sign up to speak at a treatment facility.

I will express more gratitude to others by sending an occasional thank you note. I have received many of those and have sent very few. I know I have enjoyed getting them.

I will express more gratitude to others by continue to write the rest of Rupi Kaur's Gratitude Writing Prompts until the end and include people I am grateful for in each writing.

And for this writing prompt, I am grateful for my children. This year they took me on a birthday trip that included plane fare, hotel room, rental car expense and some meals. They did allow me to buy a meal or maybe even two.

No matter what, I always make time for __________________ Rupi Kaur's Gratitude Writing Prompts

No matter what, I always make time for self-care. It is so important. Self-care can include giving myself reiki. Going to the river for water ceremony. Getting a haircut, massage, manicure, pedicure, or other such service.

It can be spending time with my children, grandchildren or great grandchildren. It is keeping up with recovery meetings and meeting with women I sponsor. It is a service to them but also self-care for me.

No matter what, I always make time for connecting with friends and family. I am the one to stay in touch with my brothers that struggle. I have a couple brothers that are doing well and my contact with them is less. And they will touch base with me from time to time.

Then writing is really self-care for me. I read people's stories that I enjoy reading. I write whatever is on my mind and sometimes it is things that are going on in my life that need some support and I get the support I need on Vocal media and Medium.com, even if it the same few people.

Writing is healing and I write all of the time as I learned that. Writing poetry/rhyme feels especially healing to me.

What have you forgiven your parents for? Rupi Kaur's Gratitude Writing Prompts

I have forgiven my father for dying and leaving me and our family on my 10th birthday. It was tough for all of us. I didn't realize that his dying on my birthday would make it difficult for me to celebrate my birthday. When I realized I could celebrate another day, I could forgive my dad.

I believe my mother didn't hear me when I reported abuse to her at age seven from a male babysitter. My female cousin, who lived just down the street was also abused and my brother knew what was going on and said he was going to tell. It didn't stop the abuse that day.

My cousin never stayed at our house again. I told my mom. I never heard anything back. That man never came back to our house though, but I didn't ever trust that he wouldn't come back.

As a young adult woman I had that conversation with my mother. She talked about being abused herself. She said much of her experience affected her adult life. I understood that as that was true for me also. I could forgive my mother after that conversation.
