My First Writing

My first ever writing is way different from what I write now. I am going to include it here because I have never published it here.

Through it All

Through all my struggles.

Through all the trials and

Tribulations.

Through everything you

Were always there.

A hidden friend.

A forgotten friend.

You picked me up

When I was down.

You were always

There.

Even though I didn’t

Recognize you at times.

You were still there.

You are my friend.

This friend will never

Leave me.

This friend is the one

And only Jesus Christ

My savior.

Lord, I love you

And always will.

Thanks for your

Forever friendship.

The first big difference is that I don't believe in what I said in this poem anymore. Too much stuff has happened to me to believe in God anymore.

For the style of the poem, I think I still have the same style for writing poems. This poem was written when I was a teenager, and I am almost 40 now. I still do the freestyle poems. I have never followed a structure.

Another difference is that I write a lot about music now. I love music and it took me a while to figure out how to write about it.

That brings me to the biggest difference in my writing. I can write stories and articles now. When I was young all, I could write was poems. If I am truthful, Vocal changed everything for me. With the prompts I figured out how to write stories. The articles came after that. They are mostly musical related.

My poems and stories have gotten darker over the years. That is a product of what I have been through. I think there has always been a little darkness in me. Now I just know how to express it in a healthy way. I compare it to the people that write Horror or Murder Mystery films and stories.

I have come a long way from my first poem. I hope to continue to grow and learn as my writing journey continues.
