10 Things To Do This Summer

Make the most out of the lovely weather.

The blue sea of Cornwall.

1. Read Lots Of Books

Summer is the perfect time to sit outside and tuck into a good book. You can also get a nice suntan at the same time which is an extra bonus. Get warped into another world as you turn the pages. If you have an e-reader like a Kindle, take advantage of all of the cheap and free books available. If you walk past a shop selling books, have a browse. Take your mind on vacation with some great poems and stories.

You can also watch lots of videos or play lots of games if that appeals to you more, but for me, I find that reading a book is a lot more intimate and personal. But for you, it might be different. So if you're not a bookworm, you can place the first one with play lots of video games or watch lots of movies or films.

2. Go Swimming

Swimming is one of the best exercise out there. Not only does it make you feel good, but it also works your entire body. You'll have so much fun you won't even notice that it's a workout. I have a swimming membership at my local sports centre and the more I go swimming, the more money I save in the long-term. I've found going swimming is a cheaper alternative than going to the gym.

3. Pamper Yourself

You've been working or studying all week. You deserve a rest. Give your feet a good soak. Get those nails done or get the stylish haircut you've always wanted. Embrace your freedom and most of all express yourself in a positive way.

4. Go On A Picnic

This weather is perfect for picnics. Invite friends round and bring your favourite snacks and nibbles. You can even do it in your garden and by doing that, you get a barbeque too. (Bonus!)

5. Go To The Beach

The beach is the place to be. Enjoy soaking up the sun and cooling off in the sea and collect nice seashells and pebbles along the way. Much cheaper than buying shells in the shop. If you're feeling confident, you could try surfing.

6. Meet Up With Friends

Meeting up with friends will make your summer even nicer. And those memories will last a lifetime. Take lots of pictures and have lots of fun. If you're going on vacation and you have a friend who lives nearby, offer to meet up with them. It really makes a big difference. A lot of my closest friends live in many corners of the world.

7. Go shopping

Go shopping for the perfect dress or the new book to read. Go shopping and explore things you haven't done before. Who knows, you might even like it.

8. Travel

If any of you, like me, enjoy travelling then summer is the perfect time to do it. Even though the prices will be a lot higher, you can still find some good deals if you know where to go. You don't even have to venture far or abroad either. If you book your train tickets in advance, you may be eligible for discount.

9. Stay Up Late

If the heat is too unbearable, being outside at night will be soothing. The nights will be a lot cooler and the nightlife in summer will be pretty amazing. Just be careful. You don't want to be late for work.

10. Get Up Early

Get up early to make the most of your day. Plan ahead. Whether you plan to make your summer days busy and buzzing or calm and relaxing, make sure that every hour you spend counts. They say that the early bird gets the worm. I would agree with this to some extent.

Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids, especially water and also get plenty of sun lotion on.
