What does it mean that the Georgia Bulldogs finally won a National Championship? First, we had the Atlanta Braves win their first World Series in 25 years. I actually remember them winning their last won. I was 12 years old.

The Bulldogs winning feels more significant. It has been 41 years since their last one. I was not even born yet. Some people have been waiting their whole lives for this moment. I am one of these people. I grew up a Georgia fan. Growing up I would watch games with my dad. Saturdays were our day. We would watch the games and scream way to loud.

He has been gone 12 years. He would have loved this. I do not think about him often but when they got the interception and ran it back for the touchdown. I thought of him. He would have been there screaming right along with me. He would have loved the Braves winning also. We watched them win the last World Series tighter.

It has now been 35 days since the Georgia Bulldogs won the National Championship. People are still talking about it and making Facebook post about it. The last interception of the game will forever be talked about. The talk has somewhat moved to how do the Bulldogs not suffer the Championship curse. The seniors and some Juniors are getting ready for the NFL.

The coach of the losing team is still not happy. Nick Saban is playing the players now. He said the back ups didn’t put in the effort to be ready when they where needed.

The Bulldogs and The Braves winning in the same year was amazing.

Georgia teams are continuing a winning tradition that started in 2018 with Atlanta United. Some of you may be saying what team is that. They are Georgia’s professional soccer team that in their second year in the league won a championship. That Parade was something to see.

That makes 3 of the 4 big teams in Georgia that have won championships. Sorry Falcons you had your one chance to win one and probably should have won that Super bowl.

Speaking of the Super Bowl, Georgia just won this years Super Bowl. The L.A. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford played at Georgia. Him and a receiver named Cooper Kupp literally won the game. The last drive was incredible. To drive 75 yards in 2 minutes just mainly throwing the ball because your run game sucked all game. There was one run during that drive that helped.

Then after they scored the defense, the next drive was just spectacular. One 3rd down Aaron Donald grabbed the running back and pulled him back just far enough to prevent him from getting a first down. Then on 4th down Aaron Donald sacks Joe Burrow and ends the game. It could not have ended any better.

It is a great time to be a fan in Georgia. After years of disappointment Georgia finally has something to cheer about. Name another state that has two teams from different sports to win a Championship in the same year. To have 3 championships in 4 years in different sports is pretty amazing. I know Georgia sports fan went through excitement and disappointment with the Braves when they would win the Division every year just to either not make the World Series or not win it. Sorry again to the Falcons fan maybe it will be their time one day soon.

Hopefully the good times will keep on rolling and we will have more championship sometime in the near future. Good luck to all the Georgia sports teams.
