Spring is here!

Welcome to the Queer Vocal Voices unofficial spring poetry challenge. We want to know what spring looks like where you live. The sights, the smells, the sounds…tell us all about it- in poetry form.

Your poem can be any format, style, and size (Using Vocal’s minimum word counts). Paint a picture for us using words.

You can submit your poems in the Poets community or the Pride community. (There is no word count minimum in the Pride community).

Once published, share the links to your poem in the comments of this piece.

Judging will be anonymous, and readers will choose the winners. First place will receive a five-dollar tip and a feature in the Facebook group Queer Vocal Voices. Second place will receive a three-dollar tip and a feature in the group. Third place will be a two-dollar tip and a feature in our group. You do not have to be a member of Queer Vocal Voices to enter and to win.

Each entry will be shared in a thread in our group as well.

The deadline is midnight (eastern time) on Friday, May 31st. Judging will take place the following week.

We can’t wait to read your entries!

Spring looks like the sunlight dancing upon Your garden, whether it's growing indoors or outdoors, smelling like the pollen from the surrounding trees as You clean out the gutters, as the sound of birds chirping and bugs buzzing fills the air, and feels like the occasional mosquito bite that You didn't know existed two days ago.

Spring smells like open ice and thawing poop xD
