My Toy

You were my lover

I was your toy

I know that now

After all the nights I spent contemplating

The moments I spent in confusion

In an attempt to decide

If I meant anything

To you.

You ripped me out of my world

Showed me yours

I fell in love with the sounds and colors

And you.

It was your world

And I was just a plaything

Entertainment for you

But you knew.

You knew that I loved you.

And you couldn’t care.

I know that now.

You still call me

And I let my delusional mind think

That it was more than it was.

The times I spent with you

Are the places that are filled with giggles and weed and late night drives

Tinged with black.

I let my selective memory

Choose.

I still love you

I always will

For changing my life forever.

It was ok that I was your toy.

But you can be mine now.
