Your Eyes

In them rests the puzzle of you. A vast beach, your pieces the untold grains of sand, that know where they belong, perfectly fit, & they're never wrong.

By Barb SnodgrassPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

a congenital roomy sea of swirling liquid blue ingenuously wide---hazel unblinking, green speckled shrewd & deep rooted pinpoint black & beady trapped by tiny blood shot veins ---deleteriously shifty elegiac red rimmed & watery extemporaneously aboveboard stirring, fervent---shockingly prominent stygian dark pits as mirrors--- perpetually cunning artful dodgers scintillating stares sharp as razors more fruitful than loaded revolvers open windows to the tenebrous damned aversely hanging back, light---sardonically queasy unclouded & ardently ready to go bloody wretched only sweet & doughty to electrify as violently barbaric gaudy & unfathomably self abhorrent 21 daffodils for each gram of narcissus ---I see the birth of stars & the fiery depths of Hades in your eyes---I also see both paths splitting up ahead at a fork & even if I knew, it's not about the ending it's about taking a walk with the woman I love ---you
