You Were Mine

My heart shattered

I was incomplete

A part of me was missing

A part that was only meant to be temporary

I felt guilty

I felt broken

I felt confused

I felt as though my world was crumbling

I would have put you first

Made sure you were cared for

And had everything you could ever need

I would have given you the world

You existed and disappeared

All in the same moment

I grieved for you

Something I never thought I wanted

I loved you so much

I still do

You were mine

Even if only for a second

Rest in peace my angel

I'm so sorry

That I didn't know
