Here’s the first problem

It’s all going well,

There’s laughter and the rolling of hands

Fingers that bring together the

Things between us.

So here’s the problem:

I end with “you see,”

Words rippling the beers that

Stay between you and me.

It’s harder to talk

When you can feel the ice in your glass

But never mind all that, it’s

All in what you see.

I’m going on for so long,

Relying on drum beats and throng,

But the truth

Is

I never really got to the other side of the phone

So I can’t say

You see?
