Writing Manifesto
Have you thought of yours?
I've been using the time lately to develop my writing manifesto, my writing intentions, developing my writing methods.
I don't know about you but, I seem to write for the pleasure of it more than for the sharing of it. I often write by hand and don't love to type and so, many pieces never find their way anywhere near a platform of any kind.
But still, I decided why not share this one? Have you manifested yours yet?
MY MANIFESTO
1. Busy hands liberate the mind.
2. Let your imagination invent and play.
3. Don’t make sense of all your thoughts, let them be free.
4. Talk with children
5. Keep a notebook and pen/pencil nearby as much as possible, jot down ideas that make you have an outward physical reaction, a laugh, a frown, etc.
6. Read – A LOT, anything, and everything
7. Write your first draft by hand and let it sit a few days
8. Type your second draft and let it sit a few days
And then polish and work on it some more.
But at one point, let it live and write something new :-)
About the Creator
Eugenette Morin
I enjoy short stories with a twist, long stories that meander; little snippets that create poems.
I've been writing for a long time, but it's always been left dormant in a notebook.
So now's the time to see if I should take it out.
