Within

A Poem of an Internal Search

By GARY DEANPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Pick a hand of dust and see your future

Pay the reaper when at the gates

Belay your debt for another time

Was having fun your only crime

Driven to live despite adventure

Given the need but thrown away

What’s your corner and who did you built it for

Is this the hope that keeps you safe

Ignore the crude calls of misunderstanding

Focus your goal to life’s first call

Return your mind to a day less remembered

Feel the freedom of a memory once gone

No matter how high you climb for fortitude

Or what power exuberance installs

Its from the heart where it all begins

No jump-start required your going to win

Don't try so hard looking in earnest

No great search is needed to find this thing

Within yourself is all that's needed

Enjoy life and feel your head spin.
