It would be nice if we could go back in time with some wite-out and use it to clear away the ugly things that have happened in life. Then, we wouldn't have to have painful memories that haunt us and scare us continually. The nightmares would have no place because those memories would be gone. The dedicated brush of the wite-out would have done its job. All would be pure and pretty much perfect again, right?
But, who would we
really be if we hadn't
survived through those
terrible things?
Would we be as strong?
Or as brave?
Or as determined?
Or as careful?
Or as wise?
Could brokenness have a higher purpose?
Could terrible memories help us appreciate the good ones more?
