Who Should Write?

Inspirational, Motivational Poem.

By Paul StewartPublished about a month ago 1 min read

Who should write?

who should commit words to paper, memory, history, fame and infamy?

all who feel it right, even when it feels so wrong

for the spark to ignite

creativity shines bright

in spite of the fear

despite the doubt

*

Why you should write?

why commit words to paper, memory, history, fame and infamy?

to bring truth to light, even when it's in the dark

to bring joy and delight, name and shame

to gain and give insight

despite the fear

in spite of the doubt

*

Who should write?

who should commit words to paper, memory, history, fame and infamy?

the foolish and the fanciful, wordsmiths and raucous raconteurs

deepest thinkers and artful, rhymers and non-conformist free versers

all should write

despite and in spite

the fear, the doubt

*

Why should you write?

why commit words to paper, memory, history, fame and infamy?

because of that fear - the belief it's not for you, me, we, us

that rumbles in your core

because of that doubt - that says hold back, shrink back

that knocks you on the floor

*

The secret, that special trick

is to write, and make it stick

forget the flaws, forgo the pause

write just because, write just because

means justifies cause, cause and effect

write with might, forthright and direct

*

Who? You should write!

Commit your words to paper, memory, history, fame and infamy

*

I love this so much! An instant save (so glad that’s a thing now)! I agree with Gabriel that this feels very Vocal anthem worthy! Like a call to arms, or rather pens/keyboards!
