What are we all afraid of?

Darkness will not be the end.

By Andie EmersonPublished 6 months ago 1 min read

When it is we who we love...

Wounds left exposed, we forfend.

What are we all afraid of?

With the wings of a dove,

knees to the ground, we fall and ascend.

When it is we who we love...

Our willingness to fight (or lack thereof),

have us obeying the rules without a bend.

What are we all afraid of?

The mask now fits like a glove,

for so long have we played pretend.

When it is we who we love...

Only when push comes to shove,

will we be able to mend.

What are we all afraid of?

For when we rise above,

darkness will not be the end.

When it is we who we love...

What are we all afraid of?
