Unsatisfied King

Even the powerful still face challenges. (Poemsaurus Challenge)

“Roary” the baby Tyrannosaurus Rex at the park.

I am the King of the Dinosaurs.

An apex predator.

A prime specimen—

Of evolution’s ability to craft a beast as magnificent as I.

Thus, it is right that the others fear me.

No defenses can match my serrated teeth, as long as bananas.

Boney armored plates?

Tough scaley skin?

Don’t make me laugh! I can snap through bones like a twig.

My toothy smile is generally the last thing my meals see.

Look into my eyes so I can see your fear.

My excellent vision,

My depth perception,

Coupled with my impressive sense of smell means you cannot hide,

And I’ll find you if you flee.

Have you noticed my powerful leg muscles?

A quick acceleration,

Good running endurance.

I am terrifying to behold as I race after my prey.

Would you not agree?

I am Tyrannosaurus Rex, a creature no other can match.

I also have an annoying itch that I cannot scratch.
