Sometimes blood ties mean very little
What’s your latest story? What’s your latest lie?
If no one will listen… you act as if you’ll simply die.
If someone tries to right your wrong
You make them feel like they’ve meant nothing all along
Nothing to you
Nothing to the world
Just a lying, mean, ungrateful little girl
My eyes to burn from the sting of tears,
My heart aches from remembered fears
My head throbs from this constant stress
My stomach turns from your constant tests
Will i ever be good enough…..ever do enough
Or will the spotlight always be your one and only love
For you, it's all about reputation
You couldn't care less about communication
You cursed future generations
with the needed use of medications
Mental
Physical
Emotional
Trauma
Your so confused when your met with karma

The River's Due
The river in our village was everything. Giver of life, bringer of death. It provided you with good fortune or stole your future. It was where the priests baptized us and the grandmothers blessed us afterward, in between the washing. The river’s spirit whispered to us all, every day of our lives. When someone was lost to the river, those same traveling priests claimed God had called them home. We nodded to make them feel better, but we knew it was the river that had come calling for its due. We may have come to accept Jesus as our savior, but had our doubts he would have tried to walk our river.
