Unmasking Our Fears
Behind the mask of confidence and charm Lies a sea of fears and doubts that disarm
Behind the mask of confidence and charm
Lies a sea of fears and doubts that disarm
The whispers of "what ifs" and "maybes too"
Echoing through our minds, an endless "to-do"
But what if we confront these fears head-on?
What if we face them, and let them be gone?
For it's in acknowledging our deepest fears
That we find the strength to overcome them, and dry our tears
Behind every confident smile, a story's told
Of anxiety and uncertainty, as the weight grows old
Of self-doubt and fear of failure's sting
And the fear of not being good enough, like a constant ring
But what if we stopped hiding from the truth?
What if we faced our fears, and gave ourselves some youth?
For it's in embracing our vulnerability
That we find the power to heal, and break free from our prison cell
We're taught to be strong, to be brave, to be bold
But what about being vulnerable, and letting our hearts unfold?
What about being human, with all our fears and flaws?
What about embracing our imperfections, and showing up with no masks or laws?
We're conditioned to be perfect, to never show our hand
But what about being authentic, and taking a stand?
For it's in being real, that we find our true voice
And the courage to face our fears, and make some noise
So let's take off our masks, and let our true selves shine
Let's stop pretending to be someone we're not, all the time
Let's acknowledge our fears, and face them with courage true
And find the strength to overcome them, and see them through
For it's in unmasking our fears that we find our greatest gain
A sense of freedom, a sense of peace, a sense of life without the pain
A sense of being alive, of being human, of being free
To live without the weight of fear, and just be me.
So let's take a deep breath, and let go of our fears
Let's stop hiding behind masks, and wipe away our tears
Let's face our doubts and insecurities head-on
And find the strength to overcome them, before they're gone.
For it's in facing our fears that we find our greatest strength
A strength that comes from within, a strength that lasts a lifetime long
A strength that helps us rise above the noise
And find the courage to be ourselves, with no apologies or joys.
So let's unmask our fears, and let our true selves shine
Let's stop pretending to be someone we're not, all the time
Let's acknowledge our fears, and face them with courage true
And find the strength to overcome them, and see them through.
