True Colors of Me
Inside my mind, how I view colors.
Colors surround us day and night,
Colors surprise us with dark and light.
Their truth is shown by their vibrancy,
And each one is known by its frequency.
What are they to me you wonder?
Colors from green, to blue to lavender.
They define my identity,
I have worn all to express the real me.
The truth comes when I build characters,
From the depths of my imaginative architecture.
I pull from the reds, browns, oranges, and pinks.
Creating nightmares from favored movie scenes.
Changing my outsides to match the in,
Changing them further to separate them.
The spectrum of light that is viewed,
Is either the character or the truth.
True to the inner me,
Are the cools of blue, purple, and green.
When I wish there to be another in my stead,
I reach to the warmth of yellow, orange, and red.
