Memories lurking in the shadows of the past,
love's flame did fade,
My heart once tender, still remains betrayed.
Cutting ties with grace, my choice profound,
To free my soul, where self-love is found.
No longer shall I bear the burden of disdain,
For in my heart,strength reigns.
Boundaries I've set, like armor strong and true,
I sever ties with the one who can't value what is due.
Respect withheld, like whispers lost in the air,
I've chosen to thrive, to rise beyond despair.
With every step, I find my worth anew,
No longer clinging to a love that was untrue.
Though the memories of a lover's tale haunts me
throughout the summer nights,
I'll forge ahead, embracing my own light.
For I am worthy of a love sincere,
A love that cherishes, respects, and holds
me dear.
So let this poem be my testament of growth,
A declaration of self-love and newfound oath.
I cut you off, a chapter written that was left behind,
With life's beauty, my heart unconfined.
