Time to Fly!

With these words that

My past self wrote,

I feel the weight of invisible chains-

Lifting.

Happiness, joy, excitement-

I feel it bubbling up inside me,

A voice inside me whispering

"I am free!"

Realisation fills me-

I no longer need to hide!

I am not afraid to share

These words from my past,

My present, and my future.

And so now I say-

With these words,

I free myself from my past.

These words I shall never again contain,

I let go of my past!

Victim, no more-

Only survivor...

Warrior!

Freedom...

It beckons me-

My past,

It no longer defines me!

Begone, for you are

Naught but faded memories!

I release you into the winds,

So that you may forever fade away.

And that I may,

finally...

Spread my wings-

AND FLY!
