Thoughts Of You Inside My Head

Thinking About You

Thoughts of you inside my head;

Feeling emotional,

Feeling sad,

Feeling blue,

Thinking about you,

Every day and night,

Thinking about Dartmouth Park,

Where we sat with each other,

Listened to music,

And talked all night,

Thoughts of you inside my head;

Images of your curls and

Infectious blue eyes,

The mole above your lip,

Your smile,

Your friendly hugs,

And, our intimate conversations,

Thoughts of you inside my head;

The day you kissed me,

Though it was never meant to happen,

And the day you left without

a trace,

or a sound,

My eyes start to well with tears,

I know I've lost my best friend,

To me so dear,

So very much missed,

Even today;

Though everything has changed,

It's been over thirty years, Titch,

I'd give anything to see you again,

But I am happily married now,

That need not stop us from being life-long friends,

We said we were soul-mates,

Joined at the hip,

Nothing would stop us,

Do you remember?

You know I still need our friendship,

You've already seen me,

Yet silence;

You still run in fear,

Even though you know you want it too;

You don't need to be scared,

All you have to do is say my name,

And tell me you know I know who you are,

Can't you see, I still need my friend even

though it can't be more than that?

I miss you,

And if I never see your smile,

Or hug you, just once more;

I will be thinking about you,

Because I can't let go of these

thoughts of you inside my head.
