The Voice

A Poem

Inspiration can come from anywhere

But the voice always comes

Sometimes it’s a roar

Sometimes it’s a hum

Sometimes it comes when I’m too busy with life to write

Sometimes it comes when I’m in a slump

Sometimes during the day

Sometimes it keeps me up at night

Slipping words under my pillow

As it whispers to me

Like the wind through the willow
