See The Swift Flying Gracefully Through The Air

Beautiful Bird, Always Flying And Gliding

Through Blue Skies, Over Waters, On Wings So Fair

Flying So Fast From This Place To Who Knows Where

Immortalised Form By Anna On The Wing

See The Swift Flying Gracefully Through The Air

Apus Apus, Latin For This Bird So Rare

Avian Magic On The Wing Free Flying

Through Blue Skies, Over Waters, On Wings So Fair

The Freedom Of The Skyways With Speed to Spare

With A Journey To Make And A Song To Sing

See The Swift Flying Gracefully Through The Air

On Their Epic Migrations Without A Care

To Foreign Climes Over Seas, Southward They Wing

Through Blue Skies, Over Waters, On Wings So Fair

Though They Flew South One Day To Here They'll Repair

In The Bright Blue Sky You Will See Them Soaring

See The Swift Flying Gracefully Through The Air

Through Blue Skies, Over Waters, On Wings So Fair

Good work for I could see the flying of the Swifts

I am gifted with Swifts nesting in my enormous barn every year, ( none are related to Taylor TBTG!) When the fledglings pop up I leave the bid doors open so their mommas have free access to them. The barn is full of ways (very old so lots of little holes) for the swifts to get in, but I worry they might get blocked somehow. I am Birdiest, too. I converted over 40 years ago;)

This was quite lovely, Mike :) And the imagery, really well done. I loved this line, 'To Foreign Climes Over Seas, Southward They Wing'.
