Exhaustion –

Fuels the day.

Night.

Numbing the mind into acceptance.

Of Still-Life,

Muted like a water stained portrait-

That never sold

In its lifetime.

Covered in beige cloth.

Hidden.

Breathing.

Languishing -

Half way between.

Dead and alive-

And somewhere in between that.

Again.

Better that way.

Safer.

Preserved.

In time.
