The sun rose over the mountains
As I painted the picture of our lives
The man in the moon watched me cry
As I painted the picture of our lives
The clouds stretched, lazily across the sky
As I painted the picture of our lives
I laughed, until I cried, until I smiled
until I cried again
As I painted the picture of our lives
~
The birds sang a beautiful song
The flowers blossomed in summer air
Every stroke of my brush, told a story
Every detail, brought to a life a memory
In brilliant color of a moment we shared
~
I painted the picture of our lives
In mornings that turned into afternoons
In dreams that came from the center of my heart
In spaces where our love was my only home
~
I painted the picture of our lives
In days that fell one after another after you were gone
In nights where I couldn't remember who I was
Because without you, my love
I feel so far away from where I am supposed to be
~
Every day I wake up to paint a life with you
Every day a different scene
From a place we shared, From a love
Where I cherished every beat of our hearts
Where every glance I stole was a treasure
Where every time you didn't think I was looking
I couldn't take my eyes off of you
~
Every time I paint the picture of our lives
I relive the sunlight in your hair
The twinkle in your eye, the glow in your smile
With each signature I place in the corners of our lives
I look up at the blue sky floating above and shout
At the heavens where you escaped
How long will I have to wait
Before I can leave this place
And be with the one I love, again
~
In the daylight of this afternoon's passing
Rain is falling from a darkened heavy sky
Interrupting a day we spent together
On a quiet beach in the Outer Banks
Raindrops wash unnoticed over my face
My clothes cling wet to my skin
almost without my knowledge
I stand transfixed under the falling storm
My eyes watching paint run away from us
In tiny rivers of color
Flowing from the canvas of our lives
To a muddy ground below, each drop of color
Landing with a splash, as I stand thinking
I will never
Stop loving you.

The moments you thought that I wasn't looking❤️I couldn't take my eyes off of you-😉📝💯✨Lovely Piece❗
Such a beautiful love poem. The picture is a perfect match for these words "As I painted the picture of our lives." Well done ❤️
Hi Eye ~ This one brought back so many memories ~ Thank you for that ~ The dichotomy among the present day old/new has always been an enigma to me as a Senior: "Respect their Elders" They 'might' be one someday, too? Please repost this for all of the Newbie 'Creators' - I have just done so with one of mine - Share with them that 'No-Work' retirement is not what it's all cracked up to me - regardless of how much money we've snuggled away - it can be very lonely. They may be surprised how things really were within our Gen without the Guns and Shout-Downs or the smoking "Donuts" fear to simply walk across a street. Sorry to Blab, Thank You For this Touching-Tale, Invisible. Jay
This is a beautiful poem, who would think this painting inspire such a creation . Normally the poem would inspire a painting. 😊🎉💃🏽
