A photo by my husband Austin White
She was no taller than four foot nine
But built to be a warrior, a goddess,
A queen of the forest and wind.
The mighty She, an Amazonian today.
She had the potential
To conquer armies with one arrow
And to climb mountains just to touch the sky
Grab it, tear it down, wear it like a cloak.
She was glorious,
A sight to behold and to be told
To our children’s childrens
About immortals amongst men.
