The Love That Lingers

Memories of First Love in College

By Tamseela FarooqPublished about a year ago 1 min read

In the halls of our college days,
A love I thought would never fade,
A feeling I will always cherish,
The memories of you never perish.

It hit me hard, that first love,
A feeling I couldn't get enough of,
A smile that lit up my whole world,
A heart that was forever unfurled.

We shared moments divine,
Stolen kisses and secret signs,
Whispers in the library stacks,
Holding hands on moonlit tracks.

But as the years went by,
Our paths began to divide,
New cities, new schools, new friends,
Our love began to meet its end.

Yet, the memories still remain,
Of that love that caused such pain,
The one that hit me hardest of all,
The one that I'll forever recall.

So here I sit, alone in thought,
Remembering the love we once wrought,
And though it's long since passed away,
The memories of you forever stay.
