The Loudest

I have a voice now and I have something to say

By LaTonya StaplesPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

I never wanted to be the LOUDEST in the room. I barely wanted to be seen. All I ever wanted to do was be heard.

After years of being unnoticeably, a fixture in the background, finding my true voice and learning how to use it feels somewhat euphoric.

When my words fell on deaf ears, I wrote them down to be seen. Even if I'm the only one who reads them, it feels justified.

So I'll continue touching pen to pad. I'll continue finger to device. Even though I'm not the loudest, you'll hear me when the time is right.

I keep saying that too, something or someone comes along when the time is right to acknowledge and justify a situation. i learned that trying to rush into anything is a waste of time, it happens when it supposed to happen.

I totally get this. What important feelings to set to poetry. Keep. It. Up.
