The Joy of a New Friend

My New Friend

By Lawrence Mireku AduPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Inspired by Amber Vittoria’s “My New Friend”

I met a new friend today She was small and furry and gray She had a pink nose and whiskers galore She purred when I stroked her soft fur

She followed me home from the park She meowed when I opened the door She curled up on my lap and fell asleep She made me feel happy and warm

She is my new friend, my companion, my joy She brightens my days with her love She teaches me to appreciate the simple things Like a cuddle, a nap, or a hug

I don’t know her name or where she came from But I know she is here to stay She is my new friend, my gift from above She fills my life with grace
