the good die young

(and the bad never die at all)

By choreomaniaPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

i. i knew a virtuous girl who lived in a dream:

{a lover of noodles & seashells -

a ladybird on a bluebell}.

a blossoming girl:

her face downturned in class

her hands made of glass.

listen to songbirds that perch on a branch

and i can hear her still.

ii. i knew a kind-hearted girl made up of clouds

and falling from the sky -

she spoke of a better life

dreamt of being alive

{ and now she lives in the stars

flying high

stopping time }.

iii. i knew a lonely girl who travelled

the world without leaving her bed

{ a beautiful girl,

made of blossoms & pearls }

watching the days go by -

losing the life in her eyes.

[ now she sleeps in the trees &

buzzes with bees in the wind ].

watch the northern lights fill up the skies

and i can see her still.

iv. i dream of peace:

of forests with wide open space:

( where angels kiss the sleeping face of a

blessed girl in a shell ).

---------------

rest in paradise, inaya. i'm blessed to have known you, a kind-hearted girl tortured by family and disease. the world didn't deserve you - but i dream of peace, in the afterlife, until you can be reborn into a healthy body: a happy body, a loved body.
