The Fading Light of My Friend
A melancholy whispers in my ear, so grand, Of friendship's fading light, a dying ember's glow
As twilight's hush descends upon the land,
A melancholy whispers in my ear, so grand,
Of friendship's fading light, a dying ember's glow,
A reminder of memories that will never go.
The stars appear, a twinkling show above,
As I recall the laughter, the tears we shared in love,
The whispers in the dark, the secrets we would share,
The late night talks, the adventures we would dare.
But now, like autumn leaves that wither and fall,
Our bond is delicate, delicate as the morning dew,
For time and distance have taken their toll, it's true,
And I am left to mourn the light that shines no more for you.
Oh, how I wish to turn back time's relentless tide,
To rekindle the flame that once our hearts did reside,
But alas, it is not meant to be, for all things fade,
And I am left to cherish memories that are already made.
Yet even as the light of our friendship fades away,
I'll hold on to the love we shared, come what may,
For in my heart, it will forever glow like a beacon bright,
Guiding me through life's darkness, a reminder of our love's pure light
