The Beso

Nightfall and you

By L.SoufianePublished 11 months ago 1 min read

Nightfall — and you,

Calm — the stars;

Catch of the sparkle of your teeth,

Your provocative giggling,

The anguish of your hair;

Bait of you, eye and lip ;

Longing, longing,

Drowsiness, give up;

Your mouth,

Also, frenzy, franticness,

Quivery, short of breath, flaring,

The space of a murmur;

Then arousing — recognition,

Torment, lament — your crying;

Also, again peaceful — the stars,

Nightfall — and you.

Where annuals developed and burdock develops,

Where standing she

On the double could see

The peony, the lily, and the rose

Turns the blocks green, mellowing them

By the dim rocks

Where hollyhocks

Ascend over block
