Thank You, Sis.

To my baby sister who was always there for our mother

The day has come.

Just I always imagined,

In the cold early evening, my phone rang,

Facetime video?

My sister all the way from Japan

I answered,

"Hello?" No response.

Then, a scene of her rubbing MOM's hand on the screen

with a familiar sobbing voice,

"Sis, I am so sorry... She is gone. Gone..."

I knew then, my fear had caught me this day.

I knew then, my mother is gone.

***

"I couldn't save her... She was already cold...

when I woke up next to her cold body. "

I saw my aunts around them, my baby sister and MOM

No one spoke,

as my sister kept begging forgiveness

for not being able to save MOM

***

It’s okay, sis.

She’s no longer in pains.

It was her time,

To be free from the tired and wornout body.

She is FREE now,

FREE from the earthly matters.

Doing what she wants without any strains.

Thank you so much for being there for her,

because I knew how much Mom was afraid

of facing the day alone,

Alone to depart

for the next journey of life.

So, thank you so much for being next to her.

You had given her comfort

and helped me even more.

Saving me from the feelings

of unimaginable guilt and regret

that she had to face her fear of transition alone.

Thank you so much for being brave

for me and Mom.

Thank You, Sis.

from the bottom of my heart.

I love You very much.

And so does MOM.

THANK YOU.
