Survive, I Want to Survive

Poem

By Michael GallegosPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

When the door of reality opens,

Life deals its prerogative.

The first thing to accomplish,

It's a need to satisfy.

Survive, that's all, survive.

It's a relentless driving notion,

Intent on its rising form

Taking what ever it needs,

It's a will to power.

Survive, its end, survive.

The universe is thriving,

With life, we know it's real.

In time we see life's progress,

Survival of the fittest fills the bill.

In form, I'm one contingent,

In a sea of many like me.

Taught an allegiance to this ocean,

But in the end divided we fall.

Survive, I want to survive.

How did I end up here,

There are promises of a better life.

Just follow the eternal flame,

But is it all a game?

Survive, I want to survive.

The universe is alive,

Life shows its real

Survival of the fittest fills the bill.

Survive, that's all, survive.

Survive, I want to survive.
