One day I have a dream that men and women will both feel equally safe to share their emotions…
…that there will be more authentic, meaningful communication…
…that people will verbalize their emotions without feeling so shameful…
…that people will feel liberated through their vulnerabilities instead of scared…
…that there will be more safe public platforms for people to have access to…
…and that their audiences will be mature and open minded by differences, not threatened.
One day I have a dream that little boys and girls will be told it’s okay to cry…
…that tears can being healing…
…that they can teach us some things about ourselves…
…that they can actually help build resilience…
…that tears have significance and powerful meaning…
…and that they show strength.
One day I have a dream that emotional intelligence will be more readily discussed in the school system…
…that there would be more emotional expression mediums available and encouraged through more than just fine arts programs…
…that positive and negative emotions would not be labeled as good or bad but that they would be objectively dissected…
…that multigenerational collaborative efforts would be made to understand basic human patterns that are universal…
…that all ethnic groups or subgroups would see their power in uniting efforts…
…and that their stories and personal narratives have the potential to inspire other people.

This is so very true and needs to be shouted from the rooftops. Crying is healing, and men should be able to cry, just as women are allowed. It’s incredibly unfair and unwise to hold men to an unsustainable conduct., and deny them the healing and release that women are able to have. Thank you for bringing this important topic to the light!
