Surgery

Misery

My surgery just might have been a flop

pulse went up with anesthesia and then there was a blood pressure drop.

It was important to do what they could

but not what they would.

I am glad they did what they did

it was easy to kid

about what happened, I tout

and an overnight stay, a thought that I would get out

without much ado,

but guess what I had to do

but wear a catheter home

and learn how to operate it some

the hubby was given the directions

and all the intersections

as I was not quite all there

all I could do was stare.

What, a leg bag and another for at night?

What a fright!

Clean one when you are wearing the other

with oil and vinegar

It is just until Monday, says the surgeon.

I have injections and new pills to be on

No time to relax and take it easy as

it is the end of the semester and I am teaching a class

I asked for prayers a time or two

and any who

the prayers work

very little to no pain

at this time I remain

at a 2 on a one to ten scale

I may even be able to check the mail.

Now, the CNA and hospital nurses are great

the best service as of late.

My doctor is young but knows her stuff

Making it all a bit easier and not too rough.

The surgery was to be a complete hysterectomy

but no they left the ovaries in and it was not a laparoscopy.

Stress pushed my blood sugar up, so I was given insulin

in the hospital, and when I got home, no more issues

with my blood sugar numbers. The numbers almost always go up due to various stresses.

I am hoping for no more surgery for my lifetime but I am guessing

that won't be the case as I was told that my mitral valve may need to be replaced with an open heart procedure that has me not wanting

to think of that happening in maybe another 5 years or more but they can't guarantee

anything for me.

So the very best thing to do, is live just one days a time, get back to exercise and eating right.

Then I will be a delight.
