Summer Heat

Boy and Girl Meet

Thump thump, thump thump, thump thump; thump thump: thump thump.

My heart is a cacophony of drums.

Ebb and flow. Swish and clash. Waves go to bump

Against shiny bodies of beach bums.

Drip drip, drip drip, drip drip, drip drip, drip drip…

My ice cream’s melting as I kiss your lips.

Lust and longing, for a little sip,

My head on the sand I can hear each hiss,

Of air escaping from mollusks below.

You grab my hair and my waist in such haste.

There’s an audience enjoying the show.

So I’ll let not one moment go to waste.

Summer love seems to happen in a flash!

My heart is now waves upon breakers, smash!
