I am like a stubborn child
Resisting to grow up
In some areas of my life
Resisting the discipline of a father
That wants the best for me
To make better choices for myself and for my life
When I see a shiny treasure
I want it immediately
Without thinking twice
I get distracted by the birds signing
The baby making baby noises
The coffee smell
And the red lipstick that is staining a stranger’s teeth
When I am going to learn to focus
On what I imagine before going to bed
Of what my life could be like
If I only listen to the wisdom voice telling me no
When my flesh says yes
