Stronger

A poem

I am stronger,

than I give myself credit.

I may not be able to move mountains

with my body

but I can cut through anyone with my words.

I am more than my pain,

the broken parts of me

that I’m often forced

to fixate on.

They dominate my thoughts

and conquer through my optimism,

yet it’s never completely eradicated.

There’s a glimmer of hope within me,

It never fades.

A glowing ember

of my fight to exist.

My scars are the coordinates

to every battle location

I’ve even been to war at.

I’m stronger than these thoughts,

that tell me I’m too weak.
