Someone asked me what superpower would I like to have

I have read books of old,

The legends are recorded stories of syllables untold.

I glided with the witches on the brooms of time,

Transcribing everything poetry and memorizing every rhyme.

How ecstatic were the stories of yonder,

Over the moon, the girl would sit and wonder.

Once I too dreamt of the mystery,

To be lost in a land of enchanted history.

Transcending through the beliefs of magical notions,

I affirmed to find the magical portion.

Dreams of the starry skies,

Where angels receded from heaven before my very eyes.

Life felt sweet when we dipped our miseries in the mother’s lap,

Where we questioned the changing colors of the horizon after a nap.

All of us are now on a quest with broken hearts,

We all are in the gutter, striking our darts miles apart.

Craving to embrace the power to control destiny,

To promise ourselves happiness for eternity.

But if thou asked me,

What superpower do I pray to be bestowed by,

I would answer at the eternity’s sigh.

I yearn for the power to heal,

To heal the wounded souls through the soothing balm of my words.

To capture their hearts with the power of my poetry,

We all fight a battle that enrages in defiance,

That stands still in the pride of alliance.

For whoever reads my story,

I write with the hope to fill your heart with glory.

Though we are strangers walking the path of the unknown,

But all of us are wanders trudging here and there,

In search of a home.
