I long to love you once more

To kiss your lips

To hold your face in my hand

To look into your eyes

And see all my life

And all my love

In you

As you look back at me

With that same love

The ache in my soul

To hear you

To talk to you

To tell you how much

I love you

Just one more time

But now you are gone

What the Lord God gave to me

He took back

Half of me went away

And all of me died that day

I can’t go to you

For now you lie in soil

And I can’t love you

The way I used to

So now I love you

In my mind
