Sitting in my closet

trying to befriend the skeletons

but they're too busy laughing with my ghosts.

The ghosts are jumping on the bed,

as the shoulda coulda woulda shadows dance,

my reflection in the mirror says "you're better off alone"

I've never shown my bones

I've never bared my soul

If I look myself in the eye

will I be more than stone?

This life has made me hard

my tongue cracks like a whip

Should I stay here in my closet

and let the skeletons and ghosts tuck me in?

Wow! So good! "the shoulda coulda woulda shadows dance" hits hard in the relates for sure! Totally get those feelings (a bit in them now) I think we do need to try and get out, even if staying in sometimes feels easy. 🩷
